Hello,

My name Frank Stoczko.  I am an independent telecommunications consultant and I am embarking on a brand new challenge which will require your help to achieve.  It will only take a few minutes of your time and, you will gain monetarily from it as well.

Verizon and most of the other major local telephone companies have been charging and continue to charge their customers outrageously high rates and service charges.  They’ve been doing it for a long, long time now and most of us continue to pay significantly more than we need to simply because we’re too busy to take the time to fix it.

It is time to stop this huge waste of money!  I would like to start a grassroots effort to divert some of the money we (collectively) are currently paying to our local telephone providers and redistribute it to charitable organizations (as well as back to us in the form of savings on our telephone bills).  My goal is to save a total of $1,000,000 and hopefully get you to send 10% of it ($100,000) to charity.  The remaining $900,000 is your share of the savings for taking the initiative to help me redistribute this wealth from the local telephone companies to the charitable organizations that desperately need it.

Here are the steps I need you to take:

  1. I need each person who reads this to forward it via on to at least 5 (preferably 10 or 20 or more) of your closest family, friends and business associates.  Believe me; they will thank you for it.
  2. Each of you should then act upon at least one of the three money saving ideas outlined below.
  3. Then, I ask that each of you donate at least 10% of your savings annually to your favorite charity.   If you do not have a special charity of your own, please consider making a donation to the Pearl S. Buck International organization (www.Pearl-S-Buck.org).  Online donations can be made at https://www.pearl-s-buck.org/psbi/giving/onlinedonation.asp.  They do great work and deserve your help.
  4. Finally, send me an email (Frank@TEAMNCTY.com) and let me know how much you saved and plan to donate.  I will keep track of the accumulated savings and contributions on my web site at http://www.TEAMNCTY.com/TelephoneSavingsForCharity.html.

How much can you save?  That depends on which of the money-saving options you choose to act upon and how you use your telephone.  I offer some potential savings estimates for each of the options in the detailed discussion below.

Here is a brief overview of the three options (see below for detailed descriptions):

  1. If you are currently paying your local telephone provider for inside wire maintenance, call them and cancel this service.
  2. If you are currently paying your local telephone provider for your regional toll, intrastate and state-to-state LD (long distance) calling, go online to http://www.LD.net/?teamncty, choose LONG DISTANCE from the main menu and then click on the UNITEL button.  Follow the instructions to compare rates and to place an order.
  3. If you are interested in switching to VoIP (Voice over IP), go online to http://www.LD.net/?teamncty, choose VoIP SERVICES from the main menu and then click on the PACKET8 button.  Follow the instructions to determine cost and to place an order.

Taking action is fast and easy.  You can complete any of these money saving ideas in 15 minutes or less and reap the savings for many years to come.

For-profit and non-profit organizations spending $1,000/month or more on telecom expenses:

TEAM NCTY, Inc. (Telecom Expense Analysis & Management – No Cost To You) can perform a detailed analysis of your telecom expenses on a 100% contingency basis.  We typically find between 18% and 28% savings for our clients and 70% of the time we find these savings without changing vendors.  If we don’t save you money, you owe us nothing!

To demonstrate my commitment to this effort, if you or someone you know works for an organization spending $1,000/month or more, please call me at (215) 230-4668 or send me an email to Frank@TEAMNCTY.com and give me the details.  If I win them as a client, I will donate 10% of any commissions I earn to charity.

Remember, none of this will work unless we take action!  You need to: 1) act upon one of the money saving ideas, 2) donate 10% of your savings annually to your favorite charity and then 3) let me know how much you saved and plan to donate via email.

Together we can make a difference.  If you have questions or need help please send me an email Frank@TEAMNCTY.com.

Best regards,

Frank

Here are the detailed descriptions for each of the three options:

  1. If you are currently paying your primary telephone provider for inside wire maintenance, cancel this service.  The telephone companies typically charge $3 to $5 per month ($36 to $60 per year) plus taxes for this service and most people will never have a problem with their inside wiring.  Think about this for a minute.  When was the last time you called your telephone provider to come out and repair your inside wiring?  In five years you will have paid $180 to $300.  By the way, should you ever need maintenance on your inside wiring, you can hire someone (an electrician, telephone repair person, etc.) or better yet, find a retired local telephone provider employee with technical experience and pay him to fix your wiring.  Even if you are charged $50/hour for a 4 hour visit, you will still save money in the long run.
  1. If you are currently paying your primary telephone provider for your regional toll, intrastate and state-to-state LD (long distance) calling you are likely paying a premium price.  Many people are paying two, three or more times what they should be paying!  It is easy to figure out if you are overpaying for your LD service.  First, look on your phone bill for your total regional toll, intrastate and state-to-state calling minutes and cost.  For each category divide the cost by the total minutes.  For example on a recent bill I found a total of 342 minutes of combined regional and intrastate calls (they are billed at the same rate on this bill) and it cost $30.78 and 256 minutes of state-to-state calls which cost $17.92.  By dividing the total minutes into the total cost, I determined the per minute rates are $0.09/minute for regional and intrastate calls and $0.07/minute for state-to-state calls.  By going to http://www.LD.net/?teamncty, choosing LONG DISTANCE from the main menu and then clicking on the UniTel button I found UniTel offers $0.0421/minute regional and intrastate calls and $0.027/minute for state-to-state calls in my area.  Total savings were $27.39/month.  That’s $328.68/year and $1,643.40 over five years. Collectively, we can easily achieve $1,000,000 in savings over 5 years if only 609 of us (with similar monthly LD usage) take action on this second alternative.  NOTE: Some of you may have an unlimited calling package.  These are great but ONLY if you are making a lot of LD calls.  The problem is your telephone provider does not usually track your usage under these plans so you have no way of knowing whether you are over-paying other than to drop the unlimited service for a month or two to see what your actual usage is.  Many people on unlimited plans are paying a huge premium.  Let’s assume your plan costs $50/month and you make an equal number of regional, intrastate and state-to-state calls.  Using the UniTel costs from above, you would need to be making at least 400 minutes of regional toll calls, 400 minutes of intrastate calls and 600 minutes of state-to-state calls each month.  If you are not; you are over-paying!
  1. Lastly, VoIP (Voice over IP, Internet Telephony) can save you a bundle and give you unlimited calling to the US and Canada for $19.95/month (residential) and $39.95/month (business).  You need to have a broadband connection to the internet (i.e. – cable modem, DSL or T1 service) to use VoIP.  Setting up VoIP is a snap.  It requires no technical skills.  You receive a VoIP device in the mail from Packet8, plug it in, attach your regular telephone to it and your ready to start making calls.  To determine cost and to place an order, go online to http://www.LD.net/?teamncty, choose VoIP SERVICES from the main menu and then click on the PACKET8 button.  If you already have a broadband connection and you are currently paying $50 month for unlimited calling from your local telephone company, you could save $30/month (residential).  Savings for businesses and other organizations could be significantly higher depending on your current configuration.  Bottom line, at $30/month savings, we could reach our $1,000,000 target in 5 years if 556 of us take action on this third alternative.
